Golf trolleys – pull trolleys – golfing in the
South of England
The south coast of England is a beautiful choice for your
perfect golfing holiday, so pack your golf bag and get ready to pull
your trolleys across the rolling South Downs
Midhurst, West Sussex
The Golf Course at Cowdray Park is set amongst
the beautiful South Downs and forms part of The Viscount Cowdray's
16500 acre Estate. The Golf Course itself overlooks the Ruins of the
old Cowdray House. Golf was first played here in 1904 but the original
club came into existence in 1921 and is without doubt one of the most
beautiful golf courses in England . Test your golfing skills as you
pull your golf trolley around the 70 course measuring 6212 yards. The
course, which boasts the very latest in fairway irrigation and
sprinkler systems together with a sandy soil, is able to maintain a
superb condition even through the wettest winter.
Eastbourne, East Sussex
Founded in 1887, 'The Royal', as it is often
called by those who know it best, is a traditional members' club
situated in the lee of the South Downs . Comprising 27 holes of
challenging golf, the club caters for all levels of handicap and suits
all pockets and persuasions. Both the Devonshire and Hartington courses
are maintained to the very highest of standards. Built on chalk-based
terrain, the club seldom witnesses course closure so you can be
guaranteed to pull your golf trolley during a satisfying round of golf
whatever time of year you choose to visit. The Devonshire Course was
named after the club's landlord, The Duke of Devonshire and comprises
18 challenging downland holes. The Hartington Course is a nine-hole
test prepared to the same standard as its bigger brother.
Canterbury , Kent
Canterbury may be a place that's been made famous thanks to the
talents of a certain Mr Chaucer, but there is another man who should be
given a pat on the back for what he has given the region. Designed by
Harry Colt at the time that he designed Wentworth the course is
considered to be the best inland course in the area. Canterbury is a
challenging parkland course set in glorious English countryside, with
some tight fairways and heavily wooded areas – pull your golf
trolleys and keep your balls on the fairway! There are a number of
tricky holes to negotiate, including some devilish little par threes.
Weymouth , Dorset
Weymouth Golf Club is home to an exceptionally challenging and
tricky course that is laid out on some luscious parkland with plenty of
challenges for you to try your hand at should you so wish. With plenty
of hazards for you to pull your golf trolleys around,
you will need to display sound course management skills, good judgement
and accuracy off each of the tees. The fact that many of the fairways
are quite narrow and tight also only serves to increase the need for
straight shooting.
