The worlds first ever robotically based golf trolley is set to be released. Shadow Caddy, a manufacturer of golf accessories is introducing artificial intelligence to the golf trolley with its latest venture.

The new Shadow Caddy electric golf trolley eliminates the need for a remote control on an electric trolley. The device is capable of following the golfer around the course by responding to a transmitter the user fixes to themself. The transmitter which is easily and discretely worn by clipping it to clothing is activated by a simple ‘follow me/ stop’ button. The advanced trolley is also fitted with an onboard logic system meaning that it can avoid obvious hazards before an incident occurs.

Mindful of safety factors, Shaddow Caddy has installed several additional features, such as a full 270 degree infra-red collision avoidance which prevents the potential to collide with players, objects or other trolleys in the field. A specific steering geometry will not allow the trolley to attempt to climb a slope to steep for it to do so safely and also has a durable battery designed to last and not to leak.
