Golf News | Earth To Host Dubai World Championship

The infamous world’s wealthiest golf tournament, the Dubai World Championship has announced the venue for 2009. The Jumeirah Golf Estates none as Dubai’s premier residential golf community is presenting Earth, as its course of choice for the tournament with a US$10 million prize fund. The competition will serve as a showcase for the world’s best golfers. Worldwide golfers ranking between one and sixty will be invited to compete for the huge prize fund.

Greg Norman has design theme as one of four elementally themed course to be established within the Jumeirah Golf Estates. It was Normans' final design changes that influenced the decision to nominate Earth as the first Dubai World Championship venue.

The staging of the prestigious event here is more than significant for Norman as well as the Jumeirah Golf Estates. It will rise their profile to a global platform, rewarding Norman with the recognition and challenge for his architectural design work.
