Golf News | Australian Airline Remains Grounded Thanks To
Golf Clubs and Coffee
The Australian airline Quantas has found itself
in legal tangling because of such unrelated items as golf clubs and
coffee. The airline ran in to trouble involving golf clubs when
the English golfer Samantha Head used the Quantas to travel to the
Australian Open. The airline misdirected the professional’s golf
equipment to LA instead of on course with her journey to Sydney. Head
is about to begin legal proceedings to re-coup her losses, both of the
item and her loss in the Open. She cites her lack of success as a
result of not having her own golf clubs and
therefore Quantas are in the firing line.
A Quantas Boeing 767 flight was grounded by its own crew. The Pilot
and crew refused to fly when it was observed that a sink on the
aircraft had been blocked by coffee grounds.
Concerned by the potential for spills and damage being caused to
electronics, the Quantas staff had customer safety as a priority when
they refused to board.
