However, golf always demands a level of consistency and out of all the players who entered Major Events, only seven made the cut in all four.

Tiger Woods far outperformed anyone else, finishing runner up twice, champion once, and 12th in the Open Championship. This year, Woods has been unstoppable, racking up numerous other victories, and closing in on the records of the all time greats such as Arnold Palmer. Second in overall major performance is Justin Rose. He has finished in 5th place, 10th place and 12th place twice. As a result of this, he has now become the UK’s premier golfer, surpassing Luke Donald in the overall world rankings.

Fellow Englishman Ian Poulter has also seen the end of all 4 majors, but has not enjoyed a top 10 finish. Lee Westwood too has made all four final days, but has finished in the thirties every time.

Scott Verplank has seen perhaps the most tempestuous results of the Major finishers, ending up in anywhere from 7th to 57th- Nick Fasth fared similarly.

The final player on the seven man list is Paul Casey. Having back to back top 10 finishes for the two opening events, The Open Championship and US PGA saw deterioration in form, slumping to 27th and 40th respectively.

Tiger Woods has amazed even himself with this form over some of the world’s toughest golf courses. Yet Justin Rose cannot help but search for that extra “one per cent” that will transform him from being someone who finishes all four majors into someone who challenges for and wins them.
