Golf Clubs | Have Changeable Club Heads on Golf Clubs changed the game ?

New technology fads in golf have come and gone. Some have remained as favourites, graphite shafts, oversized club heads for example. Now some equipment manufacturers have put forward a wrench as the next big thing to revolutionise the golf club.

Soon players themselves will be able to tailor their drivers to the requirements of the course. So hard hitters like Tiger woods will no longer have to fear narrow fairways, just change to his environment.

As of Jan. 1, golfers will be allowed to adjust both club heads and shafts on their drivers before a round. Which, in turn, has inspired some manufacturers to design golf clubs with interchangeable parts, therefore easing this adaptation. Callaway Golf Co.'s have released  the iMix, costing as much as $1,400 for one driver it comes with head and three shafts, though with 3 times the service it comes at about triple the average cost.

Developing the option packed driver has been spent two years developing by Callaway before the U.S. Golf Association, approved the idea. The iMix relies on it’s a claw-like wrench to change shafts and they expect it to be available from March.

The Taylor Made Golf Co., has produced its CGB Max Limited driver, with three shafts, ranging in weights , for $999. The package has been dubbed the ``Tour Van in a Box''  because of its all-in-one style approach, including nine moveable weights that can be screwed into the back of the club head. This incredible driver has been said to offers the up to 1,071 possible combinations.
