Golf News - Jack Nicklaus announces new CEO
Nicklaus Cos. has announced the appointment of Peter Rummell as Chief Executive Officer and will complete the executive structure at the NIcklaudMilstein Fund – also acting as CEO. The fund was created to identify potential business opportunities for real estate development and potential investments through the golf course design section of the business.
With a previous CEO appointment at St. Joe for eleven year’s – Rummel spearheaded the changeover from a regionally focussed operation to one of the state’s largest real estate operators and landowner. St. Joe is now responsible for over 600k acres of real estate in the Florida district.
Starting his career in the early seventies with developers of Hilton Head Island and Amelia Island, Florida – in the late seventies, Rummel was appointed by Arvida Corporation as general manager of Sawgrass, Florida - the headquarters of the PGA Tour.
In 1985, Rummel became president of the development arm of The Walt Disney company – responsible for all non-entertainment development, including hotel and other related developments at its theme park locations in U.S., China and France – in his time at Disney, Rummell was responsible for creating over 20,000 hotel rooms.
