Golf bags – Trolley Bags – What's in Your Bag?

Golf Bags Trolley Bags What's in Your Bag?

Trolley bags are ideal golf bags for the golfer who wants to wheel rather than carry their clubs which lets you pack more. So what's in your golf bag?

Choice of trolley bags

Golfers who enjoy walking the game now have a choice of trolley golf bags that are lighter, more durable and more comfortable than ever. The latest trolley bag golf models can weigh just a few pounds made from durable synthetics. Trolley bags come packed with features with golfer-friendly innovations in subtle designs.

Lighter golf bags

That's bad news for caddies, now any golfer can pull or carry their trolley bags with ease and comfort, who needs a caddy? The rickety old pull carts are now smoother rolling and ergonomically sound. Investing in a good trolley golf bag is vital to help the enjoyment of the game. How can you enjoy swinging your clubs if you've lugging a hefty golf bag around? Today's golf trolley bags are stronger and lighter than ever before.

What's in your golf trolley bag?

So what's in the golf trolley bags of the professional players? Golf Digest run a regular feature What's in my bag' revealing the golf equipment used by the pros.

Phil Mickelson

Mickelson carries custom-designed irons in his golf bag, or more accurately, he doesn't need a golf trolley as his caddie carries his golf bag for him. He puts 15 clubs in his golf bag for practice rounds and the first club he plays with from the bag is a 2-iron, or occasionally a fourth wedge or short iron depending on the course.

Jesper Parnevik

Parnevik is known for his wild fashion taste on the course but when it comes to his golf trolley bag, he's a little more conventional, although his approach to his bag is still a little fly. I never know what's in my bag until Thursday morning, he told Golf Digest. It all depends on what's feeling good that week. For instance, last year there was a stretch when I used oversize grips with four wraps of tape under them. Now I'm down to a thin grip with no wraps. Most of my tinkering involves the short-game clubs, especially putters.

Darren Clarke

In Clarke's golf trolley bags, he is free to use whatever clubs that are best for him thanks to his contract with Dimension Data. Clarke always plays with forged irons. Forged blades are more difficult to hit solidly, Clarke told Golf Digest, but when I'm playing well I can shape my shots a lot more. Having been raised on a links, I can hit shots five feet off the ground or miles in the air. The flight I choose depends on the conditions. Because I'm pretty big -- 6-foot-2 ½ and 225 pounds -- I like a heavy club. I like to feel it in my hands.
