Five of Colin Montgomerie’s Ryder Cup side have won matches since the beginning of August after Miguel Angel Jimenez took the Omega European Masters Title in Switzerland on Sunday.
Overnight leader Jimenez was six clear with seven to play and survived a late scare when he saw his lead reduced to just one by the time he reached the 16th tee, by fellow Ryder Cup teammate Edoardo Molinari.
Jimenez kept his cool though, made a brilliant up and down on that hole and then birdied the next to beat Molinari by three strokes.
His victory follows wins by Ross Fisher in the Irish Open, Martin Kaymen in the USPGA Championship, and Peter Hanson in the Czech Open and Molinari in last week’s Johnnie Walker Open.
Jimenez, who is 46, becomes the eighth oldest winner in the European Tour history and the first to have three victories this season.
"I made a good recovery at the 16th - that was probably the key to the day," said Jimenez
"I love to come here. It's not only my two times second, it's the amount of times I have finished top 10 and been in contention, so it means a lot."
17 year old Italian Matteo Manassero came third on 16 under after a final round of 68 and has secured his tour card for next season.
